Product Update March

Release Notes: Mammoth Enterprise Browser 4.7.7

Release Date: March 24, 2025

This release introduces new features, enhancements, and updates designed to enhance user experience and improve administrative efficiency, specifically within the Management Cloud portion of the product. Please note that the Enterprise Browser software remains unchanged.

New Features

Service Edge Installation Packages for Restricted or Logically Air-Gapped Environments

We have introduced self-contained installation packages for our Service Edge, enabling deployment in tightly controlled network environments without requiring internet access during installation. Two installation options are available:

1.  Pre-Installed Ubuntu Linux VM Template (OVA Format)

  • A ready-to-deploy OVA template that is based on Ubuntu Linux with all necessary software pre-installed.
  • To further streamline deployment, a Base64-encoded bootstrap configuration is provided via the management portal, allowing direct use during the OVA template deployment.

2.  Gzip Bundle for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

  • A compressed installation package to install the Service Edge as a Quadlet or Systemd based service, simplifying installation on RHEL environments.

These new installation options significantly reduce setup complexity for administrators deploying our Service Edge in highly restricted environments.

Syslog Forwarding Enhancement

  • Previously, only block logs were forwarded to the syslog server.
  • With this update, all access logs are now forwarded, greatly enhancing administrators’ ability to monitor user activities and maintain security oversight.

Preview Office and PDF Files in File Share

  • A file preview feature has been added to the file browser.
  • Access control is enforced through policy settings, just like other user activities.
  • Users can preview documents without downloading them, eliminating the need for:
  • Office desktop software installations.
  • Storing sensitive files locally.
  • Manual cleanup of downloaded files.

This feature provides both security and productivity benefits, requiring only the Mammoth Enterprise Browser for document preview.

Beta Features

Self-Hosted Dataplane

  • Enterprises now have full control over where and how private access traffic is processed.
  • Private access traffic from the Enterprise Browser can connect directly to self-hosted dataplanes.
  • This allows performance and latency optimization based on an organization’s specific needs.

This feature is currently in Beta. If you’re interested in trying it, please contact us directly.

Deprecated Features

Password Vaulting Retirement

  • We are retiring the legacy password vaulting feature as part of an upcoming overhaul of password management capabilities.
  • A new and improved password management solution will be introduced in a future release.

Bug Fixes and User Experience Enhancements

  • On-Premises Web Session Recording Server Enhancements
  • Video recording storage file and path formats have been simplified.
  • Administrators can now easily identify users associated with specific recordings, streamlining review and processing workflows.
  • Agentless RDP support for large files (>2G)
